CONGRATULATORY STATEMENT
The leadership and membership of the APC Youth Network West Africa (formerly APC Youth Wing West Africa) warmly congratulate Dr. Muritala Ishola Seriki on his well-deserved victory at the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly primary election for Kosofe Constituency II, Lagos State.
This victory is more than a personal achievement; it is a clear affirmation that purposeful, committed, and structured youth participation in the democratic process yields meaningful results. Dr. Seriki’s emergence is the product of years of dedicated service, strategic leadership, and unwavering loyalty to the progressive ideals of our party.
As former APC Youth Leader in Lagos State, Dr. Seriki distinguished himself as a bridge between the party and young people, championing youth engagement and political inclusion with remarkable commitment. His belief that young Nigerians deserve a seat at the decision-making table has remained consistent throughout his public service journey.
We in the APC Youth Network West Africa witnessed this conviction firsthand when Dr. Seriki participated in our high-level Youth Town Meeting in Accra, Ghana, in February 2026, themed “Back Home, Still Involved.” Addressing Nigerian youths across the diaspora, he encouraged them to move beyond political awareness and embrace active participation in nation-building. Today, his own political advancement stands as a testament to that message.
His victory over a sitting incumbent reflects the confidence of party members, the strength of grassroots support, and the growing recognition within the APC that leadership must increasingly reflect the aspirations and capabilities of a new generation.
We are confident that Dr. Seriki will bring the same energy, discipline, and vision that characterized his tenure as Youth Leader to the Lagos State House of Assembly. The people of Ketu, Alapere, Agboyi, Isheri, Magodo, Ikosi, Mile 12, and the wider Kosofe Constituency II deserve responsive and people-focused representation, and we believe they have made a worthy choice.
On a personal note, the Director General of the APC Youth Network West Africa, Hon. Gideon Olatunde Igbasan, expresses profound pride in Dr. Seriki’s achievement. Having shared the platform with him in Accra and witnessed his passion for youth empowerment and political participation, the DG views this victory as an inspiration to young Nigerians everywhere that commitment, preparation, and perseverance can open the doors of leadership.
We also commend His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose leadership philosophy has consistently created opportunities for young people to grow, contribute, and lead. Across Lagos State and Nigeria, the rise of capable young leaders within the APC reflects a political environment that values merit, service, and generational inclusion.
